3rd GIONET Summer School
Remote Sensing Applications
for environmental modelling and classification
18 – 27 September 2013, Warsaw, Poland
The 3rd GIONET Summer School will be held at the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography in Warsaw (Poland) from the 18th – 27th September 2013. The summer school will include lectures and practical on the following topics:
- retrieval of biophysical parameters from optical, radar and multi-sensor remote sensing data;
- environmental modeling, presentation of models for cereal growth, water cloud model and hydrology;
- NOAA/AVHRR data processing chain – from acquisition to the final products;
- practical training in the use of instruments essential to measure various biophysical parameters in the field;
- where to look for research funding and how to write proposals to the EC and ESA and be successful.

in addition, training will be provided on the Copernicus Initial Operations Pan-EU Component, which includes CORINE land cover/land cover change mapping and verification and enhancement of the 5 high resolution layers.
