Added on: 06 June 2023

On May 16-17, 2023, Dr. Eng. Przemysław Dykowski attended the meeting of the Working Group on Gravimetry of the Consultative Committee on Mass and Related Quantities of the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (CCM Working Group on Gravimetry - CCM-WGG - https://www.bipm.org/en/committees/cc/ccm/wg/ccm-wgg/members). The meeting was held in Vienna at the premises of the Federal Office of Metrology and Geodesy of Austria.

During the meeting, Dr. Eng. Przemysław Dykowski was accepted as a member of the Working Group for Gravimetry with the affiliation of the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography, replacing the outgoing prof. Jan Kryński, who has been a member of the group since 2002.

During the meeting, the assumptions of a newly created group of a similar nature, operating within the European association EURAMET, were also presented, defined as the Gravimetric Subcommittee of the Technical Committee for Mass (TC-M SUBCOMMITTEE GRAVIMETRY - https://www.euramet.org/sc-gravimetry). Dr. Eng. Przemysław Dykowski became a member of this group with the affiliation of the Central Office of Measures, Poland.

Both groups are tasked, among other subjects, with the supervision over the measurement traceability in the field of gravimetry, in particular oversight over comparisons of absolute gravimeters, reviewing new applications to the so-called CMC (Calibration and Measurement Capabilities), exchange of knowledge, discussion on the integration of gravimetry and metrology with the activities of the International Association of Geodesy within the new definition of the International Terrestrial Gravity Reference System/Frame (ITGRS/F).
